Description:  

The Anguilla Electricity Company Limited (ANGLEC) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Digger Derick Operator.

Main duties & responsibilities of the position are as follows:

  1. To dig, transport, plant, straighten poles and dig stay holes in the company's Transmission and Distribution system in accordance with approved standards, specifications, and procedures.
  2. To process pole installation work orders in a timely manner.
  3. To straighten and remove poles whenever services are required.
  4. To maintain a log of the Digger Derrick's daily activity and report any findings to the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor.
  5. To transport compressors to jobs for the installation of rock stays.
  6. To work with the Lines Crew whenever necessary.
  7. To assist with tree-cutting and other ANGLEC system maintenance
  8. To repair Digger Derrick for minor break-downs as needed at job sites
  9. Perform other related duties as required by the job function.

Qualifications/Requirements

  1. Two years' experience operating heavy equipment.
  2. Possess a valid Driver's Licence (Class D or Class E).
  3. Three CXC subjects including Mathematics and English.
  4. Experience or certification in repairing heavy equipment or automobiles will be an asset.
  5. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and cooperatively with co-workers.
  6. Self-motivated with ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Remuneration will be based on qualifications and experience.
