 ANGLEC Press Release – Judgement Update

(23 April 2020) Further to the Press Release dated 21 December 2019, the Anguilla Electricity Company Limited (“ANGLEC”; the “Company”) wishes to announce that the Eastern Caribbean High Court of Justice (Anguilla Circuit) delivered a judgment on 8 April 2020 in the claim commenced by the Government of Anguilla. ANGLEC was ordered to convene an annual general meeting (“AGM”) within seven (7) days.

ANGLEC sought urgent clarification from the Court of Appeal on the implications of convening an AGM during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On 22 April 2020, a hearing before the Court of Appeal was held by audio-conference. The Court of Appeal ordered that ANGLEC must convene an AGM by no later than 26 May 2020.
The Company is assessing the options for convening the AGM in a manner that minimizes the health risks to its shareholders and ensures that all shareholders can participate.
ANGLEC is considering options to enable shareholders to attend and participate in the AGM through an online or virtual platform. ANGLEC asks that all shareholders provide a current e-mail address so they can be contacted with further information regarding the AGM. Shareholders should send their contact information to: shareholders@anglec.com.
