ANGLEC SET for Success Scholarship Program (Soft Launch of 2020 Pilot Program)

What is the ANGLEC SET for Success Scholarship?

Supporting Education Together (SET) for Success Program is ANGLEC’s Secondary School educational assistance program for low income families with High School Students in Anguilla. The program will serve as a joint enterprise between ANGLEC, The Ministry of Social Development (MSD), Education and select community partners to allow for maximum reach, effectiveness and sustainability within communities island-wide.

SET for Success is ANGLEC’s follow-up to the flagship ANGLEC Horizons Scholarship Program which began in the summer 2006 to aid families of primary school students.

 

Who is eligible for this Scholarship?

The ANGLEC SET for Success program is offered to students entering high school from all public primary schools, ranging from forms 1 – 5.

 

What does this Scholarship Provide?

  1. Provision of School Supplies – The SET for Success program will provide custom vouchers to reputable local suppliers for the purchase of relevant school supplies (primarily text books). Vouchers are valued at $500.00 USD ($1,340.00 XCD).

Where applicable, textbooks in the School’s recommended book list will be provided under the book recycle program through the MSD.

 

  1. Award Certificates – The program will provide the student with award of excellence certificates in recognition of their successful application.

 

  1. Monthly Support Meetings– The program will facilitate monthly progress meet and greet sessions to allow awardees to network among one another and receive information via presentations from community partners.

 

  1. Provision of Superlative Gifts – The program offers to provide superlative gifts of support to the successful students and their families pending the official annual decision of ANGLEC and SET for Success Review Board.

 

How to Apply:

To apply, simply complete the attached application form SET for Success – Application and Guidelines and ensure that it is signed by the parent(s) or the legal guardian(s) of the student.  All forms should be submitted to the Office of Public Relations at ANGLEC’s Satellite Office (The Quarter, Anguilla) by the established deadline.

 

Main points of consideration for successful applicants:

• Financial Status/Need (Parents/Guardian)

• Number of immediate Family Dependents

• Standing Family Expenses

• Student’s Behaviour

• Student’s Improvement Profile (not required for 2020)

• Student’s Grades

• Student’s Essay Submission (not required for 2020)

• Teacher Review (not required for 2020)

• Other relevant aid/financial support programs received
