ANGLEC Tree Trimming

The Anguilla Electricity Company Ltd. (ANGLEC) has a Tree Trimming Programme which keeps our infrastructure clear of trees and undergrowth. Through our focus on effective vegetation management island-wide, our goal is to identify trees that are growing too close to power lines, causing concern for public safety and reliability.  The public is encouraged to assist ANGLEC through periodic inspection of power lines and vegetation growth in the community.

Inspection Guide & Report Information

  • Look for trees within 3 ft or less of ANGLEC’s silver high voltage (HV) power lines. Those should be reported to help reduce the possibility of weather-related interference that could result in emergency outages and other unplanned maintenance issues.
  • ONLY reports of trees will be accepted, typically small bushes and other shrubbery do not qualify.
  • Reports should be made by property owners via ANGLEC’s Trouble Call Line 497-2891.
  • Please make reports as soon as possible, reports will be handled in the order they are received.
  • Upon inspection by an ANGLEC team, a determination will be made as to whether the tree may cause interference and requires trimming. ANGLEC may then offer the service of tree trimming once authorization is given.

To Qualify for a Tree Trimming the following must be true:

  • The person making the report on private property should be the property owner or a person with the expressed written permission of the property owner
  • The following details are provided to ANGLEC upon making the tree interference report:
    1. The name of reporter
    2. A valid contact number
    3. Location of property, and the nearest pole number
  • There has been a site inspection by an ANGLEC team with official determination to trim the trees in question
  • Signed authorization for tree trimming has been given prior to cutting
  • Property owner/authorized person must be available at the time of the tree cutting
