ARE YOU READY? ANGLEC REMINDS THE PUBLIC OF PAPERLESS INITIATIVE

The Anguilla Electricity Company Ltd. ANGLEC continues to plan for the upcoming paperless communication and billing initiative due to roll out in September. Following the announcement of the project in July, ANGLEC has made online appeals to internal and external customers for feedback on the preferred method(s) of electronic communication.

Email was of the most popular methods with 94% of respondents selecting email over other options to include text, Whatsapp, Facebook and an open option for customers to submit their own feedback/ideas. A common concern is the need for additional assistance for the elderly or those without electronic access. Though ANGLEC previously expressed that plans are in place to support such persons the company takes this opportunity to assure the public that in office and over the phone provisions will be made available as needed.

The survey will be open to the public on the company’s Facebook page until August 31st, 2022. During this period of planning and transition, ANGLEC urges customers to take the following sets to avoid the rush for assistance come September.

  1. Call ANGLEC’s Customer Care unit to confirm account and bill information in advance of visiting the office to make payments or to set up an online account (if the most recent bill cannot be located).
  2. Set up an ANGLEC online account via www.anglec.om using the meter reading and account details from your most recently issued printed bill for unlimited access to your account details.
  3. Update all relevant contact information on file at ANGLEC specifically email addresses and phone numbers.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you are attending the office to make changes and updates to your account or set up an online account please bring the following documents:

  • Identification, preferably a valid passport, and recent bill for domestic account holders
  • Business account holders should bring the aforementioned and a copy of recent annual returns or a valid business license

ANGLEC thanks the public for the participation and support and reminds all that printed bills will not be distributed following the start of the program in September 2022 and customers are advised to make the relevant preparations now.
