HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY FROM ANGLEC

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY!!!!

Did you know? Today is International Women’s Day and March is Women’s month.

This year the international theme is all about embracing equity for women across all landscapes (read more below), which is something we can all find ways to do more of even through small acts in our daily lives.
In 2019 The ANGLEC Office of Public Relations created ANGLEC’s first women’s day campaign celebrating some of our phenomenal women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) related careers. The ladies featured were:
  • Larricia Lacorbiniere
  • Eulalie Dupuis (retired)
  • Shenique Clare Mussington
  • Catherine Emmanuel
  • Leah Hughes
  • Jeritza Samuel
  • Mariscia Roach-Grant
  • Victorine Smith-Brooks (past employee)

We will be introducing a new set of Women to be our 2023 ANGLEC Women’s month Honourees, stay tuned!
Look out for their features in our upcoming publications including here in our blog updates.

International Women’s Day 2023 campaign theme: #EmbraceEquity

For International Women’s Day and beyond, let’s all fully #EmbraceEquity. Equity isn’t just a nice-to-have, it’s a must-have.
A focus on gender equity needs to be part of every society’s DNA. And it’s critical to understand the difference between equity and equality.

The aim of the IWD 2023 #EmbraceEquity campaign theme is to get the world talking about Why equal opportunities aren’t enough. People start from different places, so true inclusion and belonging require equitable action.

Read more about this here.

All IWD activity is valid, that’s what makes IWD inclusive.

ANGLEC Supporting Women in the Community During Women’s Month

In addition to our previous celebrations of our women, ANGLEC has also made a valiant effort to support women led events in the month of March.

Two annual community events ANGLEC has continuously extended support to are:

Primary Numeracy League Championship created and coordinated by Mrs. Shana Delaney and

Hats & Heels, created and coordinated by Mrs. Jade Reymond-Richardson and Ms. Vyonne Brooks

Both events have quickly become community staples over the years and are living testaments to the
power of women’s innovation and tenacity for community building in Anguilla.
Kindly see below flyers for each event and stay tuned to Facebook.com/AnguillaElectricity for the information regarding our Hats & Heels Ticket giveaway!
