ANGLEC’s 2019 Horizons Scholarship Program Award Results

As a dedicated contributor to the development of Anguilla’s youth, The Anguilla Electricity Company Ltd. (ANGLEC) is pleased to announce the successful completion of another HORIZONS Scholarship Program. This year, there were 28 awardees chosen from the 2019 application process.

 

Over the years, this landmark program has assisted hundreds of children and their families prepare for the school year. Horizon Scholarship Students receive the many supplies they need for school, free of cost once they meet the criteria that reviews grade level, financial needs and records of behaviour. Any student in public school from grades 2-6 may apply once the program’s intake begins over the summer months.

 

“We are proud of how the Horizon Scholarship has aided families” noted Ms. Erimel Franklin ANGLEC’s Human Resources Manager who spearheaded the program’s creation. “Thousands of dollars in school supplies have been awarded. And as a parent myself, I understand how helpful it is to know that things like shoes, uniforms, books and other necessities aren’t going to be an issue of concern.” Franklin shared.

 

In addition to the school supplies, this year students were awarded certificates of honour, as well as a gift bag to express an added element of support and encouragement to the students and their families. Collection of items and deliveries of the additional tokens were made between September 13th and 25th, 2019.

 

ANGLEC and Ms. Franklin are grateful to the following ANGLEC personnel; Sandra Rogers, Vanisha Hodge, Jemila Morson-Hodge, Maureen Woodley and Elvin Richardson for their support over the years as committee members.
