The Valley Underground Project Reminder

 

The Anguilla Electricity Company Ltd. ANGLEC – hereby reminds the public that The ANGLEC “Valley Underground Project” Phase 2 is underway. Phase 1 of the project was completed in 2018 with underground electricity distribution from ANGLEC’s Generation Plant in Corito to the Airport road. Phase 2 is an ANGLEC collaboration with DIGICEL and DITES to distribute electricity underground through The Valley central. Construction on Phase 2 began on January 13th, 2020 and will continue until approximately the 23rd March, 2020.

The designated route for construction and subsequent electricity distribution will be from the Airport road junction, along the Airport lawn, cutting across the road at Wallblake round about and down the Carter Rey Boulevard to NCBA lawn, then across The Valley road in front the Anguilla Drug Store.

At present, the first portion of Phase 2 is 97% complete and comprises of digging 1077.29ft of trench from the airport junction to Wall Blake roundabout. The manhole construction in this area has been completed ahead of schedule with subsequent tasks proceeding without delay.

Trenching from Wallblake roundabout to ABC Road is scheduled to begin by January 30th,2020. In this area, 500ft of trench will be dug along with the construction of manholes.
