JOB POSTING
The Anguilla Electricity Company Limited invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the positions of two (2) Skilled Linesmen in the Transmission and Distribution Department.
The deadline date for application is 11th July 2023.
Remuneration is commensurate with experience.
Main Functions, Duties & Responsibilities of the position include:
1. Carry out programmes for the installation, construction, reconstruction, and
upgrade of overhead lines, underground cables, pole top hardware, load break
switches, capacitors, transformers, and related auxiliaries.
2. Conduct switching operations with the necessary authorization in accordance
with approved standards, specifications, and procedural instructions.
3. Install, maintain, and remove distribution transformers and pole-mounted
metering units.
4. Carry out new connections, reconnections, disconnections, and meter
relocations in accordance with approved standards, specifications, and
procedures.
5. Measure voltages and loads and check phase rotation on distribution
transformer installations.
6. Utilize electronic devices and maintain various records, reports, forms,
materials used, tools, and equipment.
7. Read and understand all wiring diagrams and blueprints related to
transmission and distribution construction and maintenance.
8. Respond to trouble calls from consumers, conduct relevant diagnoses, and
take corrective action in accordance with approved standards, specifications,
and procedures.
9. Operate vehicles, tools, and heavy and light equipment assigned to the
department including Digger Derricks.
10.Perform other related duties as required by the job function.
Qualifications, Requirements & Experience:
• The candidate should possess at least four (4) G.C.E Ordinary level or C.X.C
examination passes including Mathematics, English Language
• Linesman Certification Level 2/ Level 3
• CARILEC Electrical Technician Level 3 certificate
• At least three (4) years of experience in a linesman position
• Knowledge of the electricity industry
• Experience in Transmission & Distribution related work would be an asset
• A valid driver’s license.
