1 Cycle Billing Public Notice

Over the last year, the management of The Anguilla Electricity Company Ltd. ANGLEC, led by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Sutcliffe Hodge, have successfully planned and incorporated several operational improvements to facilitate elevated efficiency for the organization and its valued customers. One such recent initiative is the transition to 1 cycle billing, a migration born of the company’s departure from manually read meters which required time to conduct hundreds of readings for customers in different parts of the island. ANGLEC has used an island-wide Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system to perform real-time and remote metering for several years now, allowing for a smooth transition from 20 monthly billing cycles to just 1. This change will help ANGLEC achieve greater operational efficiency and allow for much-needed relief for residential and commercial customers with multiple properties to manage. Customers with several different accounts will receive the peace of mind that comes with having a singular and standardized date to receive and pay their bills regardless of location. The migration was initially scheduled to roll out for 1st September 2023.

However, the operational advancement and promotion of the same, officially announced on 15th August 2023, have now been halted due to a directive from ANGLEC’s Board Of Directors on 16th August 2023. At this time, the management team remains hopeful that this migration can be made and will continue to communicate openly with the public regarding further developments on necessary operational modernizations like this.

Thank you for your understanding as we work together towards developing a more effective and efficient organization that meets the needs of ANGLEC’s customers and by extension, Anguilla.
