PUBLIC NOTICE: Scheduled System-Wide Outage Notice

SCHEDULED SYSTEM-WIDE OUTAGE NOTICE

DATE: Sunday July 22nd, 2018

PRESS RELEASE: JULY 16th, 2018 -The Anguilla Electricity Company Ltd. (ANGLEC) will conduct a scheduled outage on Sunday July 22nd, 2018 to replace a Transformer located at ANGLEC’s Generation Station in Corito that was damaged as a result of Hurricane Irma. Due to the nature of the operation, the outage will affect all customers from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.

OUTAGE PREPARATION TIPS:

  • Turn off/unplug all sensitive electrical devices and equipment prior to scheduled outage time or ensure they are plugged into a surge protector.
  • Turn your refrigerator and freezer to the coldest setting at least 4 hours prior to the scheduled outage. Keep it closed as much as possible so that food stays fresh.
  • Please make arrangements for the disabled, elderly or ill ahead of the scheduled outage time to help ensure that they are safe and comfortable.
  • Make arrangements to use generators where required. Remember, never plug your generator directly into a wall outlet to ensure it does not back-feed into ANGLEC’s grid. Back-feeding poses a serious and sometimes fatal risks to the public and ANGLEC’s crews.
